Oh dear...
Many of our readers have noticed the major faux pas we managed to incorporate in AMRM Issue 292 (February 2012). Unfortunately, thanks to last minute changes to content and a proofreading oversight, we managed a major print error in Ross Hurley's article, Make a Backscene from Photographs. This has led some readers to contact our office to enquire if the entire article had been printed, as they were concerned that part may have been omitted.
Luckily, all that occurred was that the first section was printed twice and no part of the article was left out.
The unnecessary section of the article has been shown in the illustration below. Ignore that section and the article will read how the author originally intended.
Apologies to our readers who may have been confused by this unfortunate error.

This issue we have a major 'Prototype File' on the SAR O wagons
Among the many modelling articles in this issue is the latest from Peter Ennis, featuring another interesting VR four-wheel wagon.
And for those who model multiple prototypes, but don't have the space for more than one layout, Andrew Collier has come up with an intriguing solution...

This issue's Gallery features a look at the 2011 AMRA (NSW) exhibition at Liverpool from the camera of Maikha Ly.

Back Issues: December 2011
The December 2011 issue of AMRM is now available as a back issue.
December 2011 contents
This issue features the HO scale P87 PTCofNSW exhibition layout, Bowen Creek,
built by Andrew Campbell (with the assistance of Ian Millard).
For an added bonus, here are two videos of Bowen Creek, both made at the 2011 Thornleigh exhibition.
I shot this one while taking the photographs for the article.
This video was posted by Andrew and shows an 'in cab' ride through Bowen Creek.
The feature articles include Robert Parnell's description of the place where he works
and his model of same:
and Ian Dunn's Prototype File describing the
Sellers-built 50' and 60' turntables used by the NSWGR:
If certain plans come to fruition, we may be able to announce the reason for this Prototype File in the February issue...
Our increased pages Christmas bonus issue has allowed us to include quite a few extra modelling articles, plus the regular features, such as 'Beyond the Fence' (this time from Western Australia) and Gallery, this issue featuring models from Queensland and northern NSW.
We review the new HO scale SEM VR FP bogie horsebox kit, the r-t-r SAR OB open wagons from Orient Express Reproductions, the etched brass NSW LWW well wagon kit from AndIan, plus a new VR U van advertising decal from Signs of all Kinds. On the electronic side we review the Singlet accessory decoder and servo motor kit, the Uhlenbrock infra-red DCC controller and the MyLocoSound large scale sound card. To go with the MyLocoSound review we bring you a video on the item, as it is rather difficult to describe how things sound in print!
All this, plus over seven pages of new product news, still provides plenty of interesting browsing.

AMRM at the Liverpool exhibition
The Australian Model Railway magazine will be present at the AMRA (NSW) exhibition at Whitlam Leisure Centre, Memorial Avenue, Liverpool over the October long weekend (1,2,3 October). Our regular stand will be there, where we will have available the current issue of AMRM, plus some recent back issues and the full range of books published by our sister organisation, Eveleigh Press. You will also be able to subscribe to the magazine, purchase our 2012 calendar, add the latest back issue CD (Vol 10, covering issues 106-117, Jan/Feb 1981 - Dec 1982) to your collection and acquire any number of two-year volume folders for your AMRM magazines.
You can also join the Southern Cross Model Railway Association.
We will be having a few Exhibition specials from our book range:
There aren't many of these left, so get in early!
Our stand is No.40, over in the far corner next to Casula Hobbies. I will be at the exhibition all three day, but not necessarily on the stand, except between 11.30am and 1.30pm, when I will be nailed to the floor! Come and say hullo, particularly if you have an idea for AMRM!

Back issues: October 2011
The October 2011 issue of AMRM is now available as a back issue.
October 2011 contents
This issue features Scott Whitaker's HO scale VR prototype home layout, Marlee Junction, with photos by John Dennis. October traditionally features a narrow gauge layout from John's camera, but this year one could not be found, so John has utilised his talents to bring us a very fine 'wide gauge' layout instead.
The feature articles include Ian Phemister's efforts at improving an already very good r-t-r model, Andrew Collier's efforts at providing suitably iconic road vehicles for a post World War 2 layout and Peter Gleadall's marking of the 75th anniversary of the Sydney Model Railway Society.
All this, plus modelling hints, 'Beyond the Fence' and a Gallery featuring some of the best South Australian modelling.
We review the new HO scale r-t-r NSW single deck interurbans (U Boats) from Southern Rail, the RRZY five-pack container wagon kit from BGM and the Uhlenbrock Intellibox Command Station, plus the AMRM 2011 calendar, the latest VR advertising decal from Signs of all Kinds and new books from Train Hobby Publications and Sierra Publishing. We finish this issue off with six pages of new product news.
